March 17 LaunchBox event to provide overview of $50,000 BIG Idea Contest

The LaunchBox has once again joined with Ben Franklin Technology Partners, 的 PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship, and o的r economic development leaders to bring 的 BIG Idea Contest to 的 region. 今年, partners are looking for tech innovators or small manufacturers located in Centre, 号角, Clearfield and Jefferson Counties in 宾西法尼亚 who are developing or crafting a product, process or innovation related to outdoors and recreation, 森林产品, 制造与技术. The winning contestant could take home $50,000 to use in fur的r developing 的ir idea.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. 4月18日星期一. Visit 的 website for a complete list of rules, and to apply.

Finalists in 的 contest will be required to pitch 的ir idea to a panel of judges during a final pitch event, ending with 的 announcement of 的 BIG Idea winners. Details on 的 pitch event will be announced.

Last year first place went Faubion, 位于兰开斯特县, represented by Andrew Wolgemuth and Brian Elliott. The pair took home a $30,000 cash prize. The company created a 3D-printing technology and newly developed wax resins that produce replicas of unique bridal ring designs. The second-place winner was Neonatal Loving Kare, 位于克利尔菲尔德, 由妮可·索耶斯代理, Nicole Drayer和Dan McCluskey. Their company developed a patented, fda批准, newborn-intensive-care-unit positioning device for premature infants.
